Connect Clasp to ChatGPT or another supported AI client

Understand the 33 external tools, OAuth permissions, and send boundaries.

About this guide. Steps reflect reviewed source and screenshots. End-to-end workflow checks are still pending. If your screen differs, contact Clasp support.

Connect the official Clasp listing

Choose the official Clasp connection in ChatGPT and complete Clasp OAuth. If a supported client asks for the server address, use https://mcp.clasp.pro/mcp. Sign in to Clasp, select the company you own, and review the requested access. Never paste a Clasp password, authenticator code, or access token into a conversation.

Clasp permissions remain tied to the connected owner, company, role, client, and current grant. Installing the listing is not permission to use every action. When new capability families are released, ChatGPT may require a reconnect or additional approval before the new tools appear.

The 33 published MCP tools

The current contract groups 33 tools as follows:

  • Read the connection profile; find customers, requests, jobs, visits, technicians, estimates, and invoices; and open an authorized record in Clasp.
  • Create a customer with its first service location, update narrow customer contact fields, create a request or job, and schedule a visit.
  • Create an estimate draft; preview and send an estimate.
  • Create an invoice draft directly, from an estimate, or from a job; preview and send an invoice.
  • Draft, preview, and send an SMS.
  • Read onboarding status; draft document terms or public policy/SMS opt-in copy; save the onboarding profile, policy drafts, one terms preset, or texting-application facts; and complete onboarding.

Each tool rechecks the live Clasp role and its own prerequisites. A tool being listed does not mean the current user or record is eligible to use it.

Communication and onboarding boundaries

Estimate email, invoice email, and SMS use separate preview and final-send tools. An exact, unexpired preview must match the final action. Queue acceptance is not delivery proof.

Onboarding writes exist only for finite first-time setup. They save reviewed drafts and facts; they do not publish a site, record customer consent, submit a texting application, order a number, or activate a provider. Completing onboarding removes those setup-only write tools.

The external connection does not delete records, import customer files, collect or refund payments, change account or security settings, configure integrations, publish a business site, or perform bulk sends.

ChatGPT and Grok availability

ChatGPT decides when an updated tool definition has cleared its review and which text or voice surfaces can attach a connection. If Clasp connects but newer tools are absent, reconnect only after checking the official listing's requested permissions; repeated reconnects do not bypass provider review.

The same authorized MCP contract is designed for Grok, but the Grok listing remains subject to provider approval. Do not treat a source-ready connector as a publicly available or approved listing.

For a failed tool call, check the workspace, role, record state, and current permission. Before retrying a create or send after an interrupted response, first check Clasp for the resulting record or delivery receipt to avoid duplicates.
